Milestones for Madeleine!

Madeleine is such a blessing to our family and Jacob has taken to her so well! I am grateful that he doesn't seem a bit jealous or threatened, only curious. He will often go over to her and lean close saying, "Oh, baby's sweet!" Such a good big brother! Madeleine is doing very well and has begun gaining a little weight ( I mean a very little) slowly but surely. She had her first doctor's visit and we were told she was doing wonderfully and would reach her birth weight in the next two weeks at least. She is small (5.3 lbs) but strong, active and alert. She also had her first bath, as you can see, and really did not like it at all! The photo below is the only one we got of her looking calm. She pretty much screamed through the whole thing! Her second bath, however, she loved. Overall, I must say that she is a wonderful baby, rarely crying except when hurting or uncomfortable, only waking up once or twice in the night, and usually falling right back asleep when she does. She will sit or lay wherever, calm and content as can be. My mother-in-law told me Matt was much the same way as a baby and so I think Madeleine (at least so far) seems to have much of her Dad's content, easy-going personality. She is so sweet and precious!
My mother will stay until this next Monday and my Dad and sisters are coming this Friday through Monday as well. It will be fun to have them and to watch them enjoy our new little arrival!
